Hand to Land:
Clay by Julie Naster

Welcome to Hand to Land. We live and work on 18 acres outside Boulder, CO at 8200 ft. My husband Rob and I began building our Santa Fe style rammed earth house in 1990. The house project with adjacent gardens and outdoor living spaces took us many years. We were also busy raising our two children who are now grown and gone.

We had always hoped to be able to spend our time making beautiful objects. Two years ago (2015), I realized my dream of creating a pottery studio, including a wood and soda- fired kiln. The clay works on this website are the evolving product. The kiln has proven to be an amazing way to utilize the many dead and downed trees on our wooded property. It has also become a community resource, allowing other local potters to fire with wood. This has been great for me as well, enabling me to learn from others and to have help with the rather arduous (30-hour) firing cycle.

I will be posting studio sales I will be offering and craft fairs I will be attending as I schedule them. Please contact me if you are interested in shopping or visiting me at my studio.
